This is the hardest thing about a website - writing about yourself!
I am a mother, an artist and a dedicated member of the South Australian professional photography community. I am lucky enough to make my passion of photography my profession. I am a preserver of memories, I capture your magic, love and laughter. My babies mean the world to me, I am completely in love with these 2 amazing humans and my dog - Teddy, who is possibly the love of my life. My girls are my number 1 favourite subject to photograph. YOU are my second (sorry!). I love being a part of your family for the time we are together. My sessions are fun, we laugh a lot (usually at me) and whether it is for an hour with your kids or all day at your wedding, I give you all I have.
Among the list of things I have done: Sewn brides back into dresses. Collected forgotten speeches for a groom. Produced fairy dust for grumpy flower girls. Super glued corsages back onto wrist bands. Read books and played games with the kids. Time keeper. Voice of reason.
In 2015 I joined the AIPP as an emerging member and won the SA AIPP Emerging Photographer of the Year which was a huge honour. In 2016 I became a fully accredited member of the AIPP and in the SA awards I was a finalist in the portrait category, and I was awarded the awards for SA AIPP Documentary Photographer of the Year AND the SA AIPP Professional Photographer of the Year. Mind Blown.
To further my AIPP award journey, in 2017 I was awarded the same awards: SA AIPP Documentary Photographer of the Year AND the SA AIPP Professional Photographer of the Year and just recently in the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA) I was presented with the 2017 AIPP Australian Documentary Photographer of the Year award.
In 2018 I have been awarded the SA AIPP 2018 Family Photographer of the Year and again the SA AIPP 2018 Documentary Photographer of the Year and most recently the 2018 AIPP Australian Family Photographer of the Year!!!
It has been a bit of a crazy few years and I am humbled to be recognized among my peers and idols as working at this high level.
A few other things....
I love sushi. It's the best.
Spring is my favourite season.
I secretly wish I could sing just a little better. Actually I would love to be a rockstar.
I get busted regularly pretending I am a rock star while driving. I sometimes use my 7 year old's foot as a mic while at the traffic lights. ***Footnote*** SO now Grace is 9.....she will not let me sing into her foot, now we have seated dance offs at the lights.
I have an obsession with plants, I am currently creating a jungle in my kitchen.
My kids used to make tent cities in the lounge room which would stay up for days, sometimes weeks at a time. Now I just make them for myself.
I use far too many exclamation marks, I make no apologies, life should be lived to the full extent of exclamation marks.
